Gulf Glass Industries
Located in the heart of Dubai, Gulf Glass Industries (GGI) stands as a distinguished glass manufacturing entity, crafting specialized glass solutions for large-scale infrastructure ventures.
Logo Design
A Rebranding Initiative
My aim was to revitalize GGI's existing logo, aligning it with the company's core principles - namely, People, Collaboration, and Glass. The desire was to seamlessly weave these elements into the design, thereby narrating the ethos and commitment of GGI through visual representation.
Challenges with the Pre-existing Logo:
The original design, while unique, posed certain challenges. The dominant use of heavy, bold lettering, compounded by overlapping thin cut strokes, detracted from the logo's readability, a key component for any brand identity. Additionally, the palette encompassed three shades of green. While the intent was to mirror the characteristic green tint often found in glass manufacturing, one particular shade lost its vibrancy against white backdrops, diluting its intended impact.
The original green was a nod to the inherent characteristics of manufactured glass, a detail that GGI held dear. However, a singular, more vibrant shade would be more fitting for modern branding, enhancing visibility without losing its symbolic importance.
Moreover, to cater to an increasingly global audience, and to underline the company's industry stature, there was consensus to eliminate the Arabic script and fully spell out "Industries", ensuring clarity and universal appeal.
In summary, the rebranding endeavor sought to reflect GGI's growth, legacy, and future aspirations, all while encapsulating its foundational values in a design that resonates universally.
