About Fred
Fred Ovesen is a seasoned senior designer, a dedicated husband, and a proud cat parent. Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, he brings a decade of rich graphic design experience to the table. Fred's diverse career has taken him across the globe, from the bustling streets of Manhattan serving corporate clientele to the peaceful, Amish-influenced landscapes of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Today, he resides in Austin, Texas, continuing his passion as a designer.
Fred's foray into the visual arts began with a stint at film school, earning him a diploma from the European Film College. Throughout his career, he's seamlessly melded graphic design with the visual storytelling skills acquired from his film studies. This interest in design was sparked early on by his mother, a graphic designer herself, who introduced a young Fred to Photoshop, where he humorously experimented with its array of filters and features.
His journey in film school culminated with a diploma in scriptwriting. Yet, the allure of graphic design beckoned, especially after he observed that his film posters often overshadowed his scripts. To further his expertise, he pursued a degree in graphic design from the Danish School of Media and Journalism.
Fred's professional tapestry is woven with experiences across startups, agencies, nonprofits, tech firms, and in-house marketing teams. Throughout, he's taught, consulted, and spearheaded branding initiatives for a plethora of clients.
Outside of his professional realm, Fred champions environmental sustainability and renewable energy. He holds a soft spot for 90s grunge music, cats, and licorice. Those who've had the pleasure of working alongside him laud him as a diligent, affable designer, always pushing boundaries to elevate brand identities.
